A Message from your stewardship committee
As we gather in the warmth of fellowship and faith, it is with great joy that it is time to hand out pledge cards in preparation for Commitment Sunday, which is November 19, 2023. Pledge cards will be handed out on Sunday, October 22nd and October 29th. If you are unable to be in church at that time, they will be mailed to your home after October 29th.
The pledge cards are not merely about financial contributions; they are a profound reflection of our commitment to the spiritual growth of our congregation and the well-being of our community.
Stewardship, at its core, is an expression of our faith in action. It encompasses the responsible management and sharing of the gifts and resources that God has entrusted to us. It is an opportunity for us to deepen our connection with the divine and to embrace our role as caretakers of God's creation.
Here are a few key points we'd like to emphasize as we embark on this stewardship journey together:
1. Prayerful Reflection: Take time to reflect on the blessings you have received and how you can use your time, talents, and treasures to honor God's gifts.
2. Generosity: Generosity is a cornerstone of stewardship. It's not just about giving financially but also giving of our time and skills to support our church and its ministries.
3. Community Building: Our church is not just a place of worship; it's a community of faith. Your stewardship contributions help maintain our spiritual home, support our pastoral team, and fund programs that strengthen our bonds.
4. Outreach and Missions: Through our stewardship, we can reach out to those in need, both within and beyond our congregation. Your contributions support local charities and global missions, spreading God's love far and wide.
5. Planning and Commitment: Make a prayerful commitment to your stewardship. Your regular giving allows our church to plan effectively and ensure a sustainable future.
We understand that each member's financial situation is unique, and we encourage everyone to contribute as they are able. Every gift, regardless of size, is a valuable contribution to the life and vitality of our church.
In the coming weeks, you will receive materials that will help you learn more about our Stewardship Campaign and provide guidance on how to make your commitment. We also invite you to join us for special worship services, discussions, and events that will explore the theme of stewardship in greater depth.
Let us embark on this journey of stewardship with open hearts, knowing that our collective efforts will not only nurture our faith but also make a positive impact on our community and the world.
May God's blessings be upon us as we pledge to be faithful stewards of all that we have been given.
In faith and unity,
St. John’s Lutheran Church Stewardship Committee
